Redraft for Mac
Support
Redraft rewrites selected text where you write. Select text in any app, press ⌘⇧E, then fix grammar or type an instruction like “make this warmer.”
Getting started
Open Redraft from the menu bar and choose Local or Cloud. Local uses a model in LM Studio on your Mac. Cloud uses your own API key; the recommended setup is Gemini Flash Lite through OpenRouter. Then turn on Redraft in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
The text wasn’t replaced
Before pasting, Redraft checks that the same text is still selected. If the selection changed, or the app doesn’t accept pasting, Redraft leaves your text alone, copies the result and tells you to paste it with ⌘V. Your app’s normal Undo reverses any replacement.
The shortcut does nothing
Check that Redraft is on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. If it is on and still nothing happens, turn it off and on again, then reopen Redraft. You can change the shortcut in Redraft’s Settings → Shortcut.
Costs
Redraft is free. Cloud providers bill your own account for the requests Redraft makes with your key. Local models are free to run.
