A private phone network for people at risk.

Cape is a privacy-first mobile carrier. Its Obscura service pairs a hardened Android phone with a cellular network that rotates the phone's identifiers, making it harder to track. It's built for government and other high-risk users.

Cape phones, abstracted

Most of my work at Cape sits on the enterprise and government side. I design the parts of Obscura that people touch: the phone app, setup and onboarding, and the admin tools organizations use to run it, along with the design system all of it is built from.

Cellular networks and identifier rotation are deeply technical subjects, and the people relying on Obscura daily can’t afford mistakes or a confusing UI. Much of the job is translation, education and trust-building: turning what the network is doing into choices someone can understand and act on at a glance.
